Christmas Eve Services
Sunday, December 24
Christmas Eve lands on a Sunday this year. Join us on Christmas Eve at 9:00 am for a traditional Christmas worship service. Then, there will be Contemporary Christmas Eve services at 3:00 and 4:30 p.m. Pastor Rob will bring the same message in all three services. Bring your family and friends. Click here to download the invitation card to send to your friends.
Would you consider giving a year-end gift so that others can continue to hear and experience the hope we have in Jesus? If you would like to, all contributions must be in the church office by 12 pm on Friday, December 29th, postmarked December 30th or in the offering on Sunday, December 31st in order to be considered a contribution for 2017. If you will be gone for vacation during this holiday season you can still give online. If you do give online do so at least 5 days before December 31st as it can take several days to process an online transaction. Thank you for your continued generosity.
MOPS Interest Meeting
January 7 @ 12 pm
Calling all women. We are starting a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) ministry here at Wilshire. MOPS is a place where moms can gather, connect, and do life together. If you are a mother of preschoolers age 0 – 5 years old email email@example.com or click here to register. If you are past that stage, we are looking for leaders who would like to bless these young moms. There will be an interest meeting on January 7th if you would like to find out more about how you can help.
Christmas Card Tree
Instead of buying Christmas cards for your church family, please consider putting a card on the Koinonia Circle Christmas tree in the lobby and make a donation. All funds donated this year will be given to the Celebration Singers to purchase music.
If you use our numbered offering envelope packets they are available at the Welcome Table on the plaza.
Pathways of Hope
Please bring food items for families in need in our community. Suggested donation items include canned meat, canned vegetables or canned fruit. No perishable items, please. Food donations may be left in the Pathways of Hope barrel in the Church lobby.
Haiti Mission Trip Donations
January 5 – 15, 2018
Our mission trip to Haiti in January is in need of large used suitcases you can donate to Haiti. Additionally, please consider donating prenatal vitamins, children’s black socks, boy’s and girl’s underwear, and eyeglasses. We will use these to carry clothes and other items to bless the people we meet in Haiti. If you would like to donate items or financially support the mission trip to Haiti see Pastor El Roy or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Access Ministries Volunteers Needed
It is our desire for Wilshire Avenue to be a welcoming and accessible place for all kids. We believe everyone is a child of God – kids with special needs, kids affected by foster care or adoption, or kids in any sort of special circumstances. Volunteers are needed to rotate every other week as classroom support or as one-on-one buddy for kids with special needs during Sunday School. Contact Alicia McCormick at email@example.com or (714) 308-1351 to volunteer or for more information.
Do you enjoy writing notes? Are you interested in lifting up your fellow church members? If so, we need you! To learn more about becoming a part of our encouraging ministry here at Wilshire Avenue contact Jennifer Cabrera at gotaV8@aol.com or 714-234-5632. We can make a positive impact in the lives of others through the written word. “We all have different gifts, according to the grace given us…if it is encouraging, let him encourage.” Romans 12:6a, 8a.
Sundays @ 10:00-10:30am
The Gift of Music lasts from childhood to old age! You can give your children this gift by bringing them to practice with our children’s choir called LIGHTS for ages 4–11. Today and every Sunday morning at 10:00-10:30am in room 304B we will enjoy creating great music together. Call or text Elaine Salico, director at 714-809-6440 to sign up.
