Every quarter we gather for a special lunch to welcome people to Wilshire Avenue. Our staff wants the opportunity to get to know you and your family better and give you the chance to hear a little bit more about what our church is all about. You will:

If you’ve recently made or are making the decision today to start a relationship with God, we would love to pray with you and encourage you in this new season.
Baptism is a public expression of a personal decision to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior. Jesus commanded that his followers experience the rite of baptism to demonstrate their love and commitment.
Baptism by immersion is a rite rich with symbolism. As one lays back in the water, one is symbolically dying to an old lifestyle. As one is raised out of the water, it is a symbol of resurrection and the promise of new life with Jesus.
At Wilshire, we celebrate one’s decision to be baptized during regular services. Contact the office for specific information.
Rooted is a 10 week small group experience that teaches people what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, built on the faith’s foundational elements including as worship, generosity, service, evangelism, prayer, and studying God’s word. Cost for the material is $30 and includes a celebration dinner at the end of the 10 weeks.
Get connected in one of our many Life Groups that meet throughout the week. During this time your group will spend time diving deeper into Sunday’s message. We are convinced that by joining a life group, this is where growth happens, where community happens. Are you ready to join? See our Life Group page to get connect today.
At the heart of Jesus’ teaching was the missional command to love God, to love our neighbors, and to make fully devoted followers of Jesus:
“The most important commandment is this: ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Our desire at Wilshire Avenue is to be the “heart of downtown” and reach out to our community in very practical and loving ways to help meet needs and, most importantly, share the love of Jesus.
We have a lot of areas of service. If you’re interested in joining our volunteer team, please fill out the form below, and we’ll be in touch with you soon.
Our L3 (Learning to Love and Lead Like Jesus) is a leadership course, published by VantagePoint 3 and comprised of three 9-month courses aimed at developing leaders while taking people on a deeper journey to discovering who they are, who they were designed to be, and what purposes God has for their lives.
The first year, The Journey helps people think more deeply about three questions:
