“The New Normal” – Word & Prayer

What if during this season we got a clearer picture of who we really are and what our purpose is in this life? Our purpose is to be in the presence of God. One of the best ways for us to enter his presence is through his word and prayer. Join us this Sunday as we look to God who gives us our identity and purpose and leads us to that new normal.

GriefShare- Tues. at 6:30 – 8 pm

GriefShare, is a support group for people grieving any kind of loss. This group at Wilshire Avenue is led by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time. Surviving The Holidays – Tues, Oct 20 at 6:30

Wondering how you will survive the weeks surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas? Are you dreading these holidays, knowing that everything has changed and that happy memories from past years can’t be recreated? Fresh Hope – Wednesdays at 6:30 pm

Fresh Hope is a new group that we are starting here at Wilshire for anyone who is currently experiencing or has had a mental health challenge as well as families members of those with a mental health challenge. Fresh Hope is a safe place for you to meet with a group of peers who share similar experiences with mental health. Fresh Hope is free to attend. Register by going to wilshireave.com/connect.

Dominican Republic- Sponsor a Child

For a child living in poverty, your words bring hope, support, love, and the encouragement they need to believe in themselves and feel valued, despite their circumstances.
Child sponsorship is a way of giving that connects one compassionate person (like you!) with one child in need. Sponsoring a child gives them the chance to grow up healthy, educated and safe – forever changing the course of their life and future. And you just might find that it changes you, too.

We have the opportunity to sponsor 89 children in the Dominican Republic. We currently have 45 out of the 89 children sponsored at the church plant in the Dominican Republic. For $38 a month the entire course of a child’s life can be changed.

Take A Moment – Your Identity as a Son or Daughter of God

We often form our identity based on what others close to us think about us… Have you disappointed loved ones and family? If so, how does that change your identity? Why not base your identity based on the God who knows everything about you and still loves you…

If we build our identity on anything other than Christ… then success goes to our heads and failure go to our heart. – Tim Keller

Take a moment to Pray and be encouraged. Remind yourself of your identity as a son or daughter of God.
