Kids Play Basketball Registration Now Open

Our Kids Play Basketball program is BACK! You have the opportunity to help children and families find and follow Jesus through Kids Play Basketball by coaching a team, being a referee, helping with the snack bar or setting up. Make a difference in the life of a child and be blessed by the experience! You can sign up to be a Difference Maker by going to wilshireave.com/basketball and click on “Be A Difference Maker”. Registration for children will start on September 1.

Byerrum Park – September 26

As a church we are partnering with the City of Fullerton and the Parks and Recreation department to help take care of Byerrum Park on the corner of Chapman and Raymond. Our church will be going twice a month to help clean and take care of the park.  Our first meeting for all those interested in helping with this will be on Sunday, September 26th at 4:00 pm and we will meet at Byerrum Park to go over all the details and schedule for the next several months.  This is a great way to serve as a family or a life group or even with a few friends.  Please email bryan@wilshireave.com to sign up or if you have any questions.

Save the Date Welcome/Connection Dinner – September 28

Welcome/Connections Dinner- If you are new to Wilshire Avenue or have come in the past year and a half, we would love to have you join us on Tuesday, September 28th at 6:00 pm for our Welcome/Connections Dinner.  This will be a great time to hear more about Wilshire Avenue, meet some of our staff, and hear how you can get connected to what God is doing in our church and community.  Please RSVP by emailing office@wilshireave.com

Garden Mentorship Program

As part of our partnership with Raymond Elementary you have the opportunity to be a Difference Maker throughout next school year. We are looking for adults to be part of the Garden Mentorship program where you will meet weekly with a Raymond Elementary student to garden together and mentor them. Email sylvia@wilshireave.com to let us know you’re interested. Serve Day will be on October 02 from 8am-12pm.

We are so excited about our partnership with Raymond Elementary School and the past serve days we have been able to participate in to help work toward creating an amazing sensory garden for both the students and staff to enjoy. Serve day will take place October 02 from 8am-12pm.

Boomers Welcome Back Picnic – October 09

Saturday October 9 at 12 noon @ Craig Regional Park on State College and Imperial Hwy We have reserved Shelter 1. It’s free except for the $5.00 parking fee. Food and drinks will be provided following COVID safety standards  Bring your chairs and outdoor games!!  If you bring a friend new to the group his/her name will be entered into a drawing for a prize!

Be A Difference Maker

There are so many ways for you to make a difference both here at Wilshire and in our community. On Sunday mornings you can help us with set up, tear down and part of our connection team. Or during the week you can help us prepare for Sunday mornings in many different ways. We also have opportunities to serve in the community. If you’re interested we would love to have you join the team and see what God can do through you. GriefShare

Tuesdays from 6:30pm – 8:30pm 
This has been a tough season, we all have things to grieve. GriefShare, is a support group for people grieving any kind of loss. Fresh Hope

Wednesdays from 6:30 – 8 pm, Online via Zoom

Fresh Hope is a new group that we are starting here at Wilshire for anyone who is currently experiencing or has had a mental health challenge as well as families members of those with a mental health challenge. Fresh Hope is a safe place for you to meet with a group of peers who share similar experiences with mental health. Fresh Hope is free to attend. Register by going to wilshireave.com/connect.

Colombia Church Plant

God is doing amazing things at the church we helped plant in Colombia. The building is currently under construction but that hasn’t stopped the believers there. The church is making a difference in the community and meeting under a tree to worship and have service. Please continue to pray for Colombia as their COVID numbers have increased recently.
