What is something exciting you see God doing recently in your life, your family or our church?
Digging Deeper:
1. Read James 1:19-27- What stands out to you in these verses? What do you think the main point James is trying to get across?
2. What does righteous living look like in verses 20-22? How is the hypocritical person described in verses 23-24?
3. In verse 25, what promise does James give to the person who studies God’s Word and practices it?
Life Application
1. When it comes to temptation, Rob talked about how we need to realize that we are part of the problem. Is this easy or difficult for you to realize? Explain.
2. Who is the best listener in your family? What does that person do to be good at listening? What does it mean to you to be “quick to listen” and “slow to speak”?
3. Why do we struggle to be good listeners to God or others? How can we slow down and be better listeners to God and others?
4. How do we begin the process of getting rid of the sin in our lives and experience more of what God has for us?
5. What is the difference between hearing and doing the Word of God? How have you experienced freedom by doing the Word of God?
6. Where do you see God be calling you to step out and be a Difference Maker for Him? What needs do you see in our church in our community to care for others?
