What is something you have learned or appreciate about your mother?

Digging Deeper:

Read Exodus 20:12. What stands out to you in these verses? What does it mean for us to honor someone?
Why do you think this is the first commandment with a promise?
How do we show honor to our Mothers, even if they aren’t alive, around or were not that great of an influence?

Life Application:

Who is someone that has helped shaped your faith? (Parent? Spouse? Friend?)
If you’re a parent, what is the biggest challenge that you are facing in dealing with your children or grandchildren right now? How can the people in your small group encourage you?
What should be some of the goals of our parenting? What have you found to be some effective ways of communicating your goals and values to your children?
