Opening Question: 

Who are some of the people that have helped you over the years on your spiritual journey?

Digging Deeper:

1. Read Matthew 4:19 and Matthew 28:18-20. What stands out to you in these verses? What is Jesus calling his disciples to do? What does it mean for you to “follow” Jesus?

2. Read Colossians 1:28. What do you see as Paul’s main goal here?

Life Application

1. What does it mean to “make” disciples? What have you found helps you to grow as a follower of Jesus? In what ways would you like to grow in your faith?

2. If we are called to make disciples, how well do you feel prepared to make disciples? How would you begin a spiritual conversation with someone who is an infant in their faith?

3. How has God used you recently or in the past to share with others what He has done in your life? If you haven’t for a while what are some steps you could take to do that? How has God equipped you to join in the work of making disciples?

4. Rob mentioned the story about the guy who was working in college and complained to his parents, the guys Dad said something profound do you remember it? (“You exist as part of the family, the family doesn’t exist for you.”) How can you relate in your own spiritual journey?

5. Rob mentioned that we want to begin to measure our lives not by the fruit that grows on our trees, but by the fruit that grows on other’s trees. How could you begin to help others come to find & follow Jesus? What are some practical ways you can reach out to the 8-15 people that God has placed in your life and help them to become disciples?

6. Spend time praying for each other to grow as disciples and for those God has placed in your life who don’t know Him.
