2021 Budget Q&A This Sunday

In order to streamline the annual meeting we will be having a 2021 budget presentation and Q&A session this Sunday, January 24 at 12:00 pm. Here you can ask any questions you have about next year’s budget and help us keep our annual meeting concise the 31st. Proposed 2021 budgets are available for pick up in the church office during the week, on Sunday mornings at church or by mail or email by request. Please review the budget at your earliest convenience and prepare your questions for the meeting. The zoom meeting will be at https://link.wilshireave.com/QA.

WA Birthday Celebration & Annual Meeting

Next Sunday, January 31 is our 128th Wilshire Ave Birthday Celebration and Annual Meeting. In order to create a safe meeting environment, we will be celebrating in person and online at 9 & 10:30 am with limited capacity, followed by an online annual business meeting on Zoom. You can go to the meeting by going to link.wilshireave.com/128 or typing in the meeting ID 865 1825 9850. A zoom link to the meeting will be sent out to everyone on Sunday morning as well. If you need help getting set up with zoom please contact the church office between now and the meeting date.

Serve At Home – January 30th 10am – 12pm

We are continuing to partner with Giving Children Hope in Fullerton and they have put together a simple way for you and your family or friends to make a difference from home. They will provide the food and measuring equipment for you and your family or friends to package individual meal kits for those going hungry in the developing world. Each family will need to pick up a preparation kit on January 30th from 10 am – 12 pm at:

You and your family or friends will pack about 1200 meal bags of rice and lentils that will be sent around the world. Packed meals are due by Friday, February 5th.

WA Students In Home Worship Services
Starting on 1/27 from 7:30pm – 8:30pm. 

Next Wednesday, January 27th, our WA Student life groups are back but they will be resuming in backyards! We are excited and thankful for the opportunity to provide our students the option to worship with their peers by doing their life groups outside, fully masked, in a small consistent group of students. We will be doing temperature checks upon arrival and having students sign in so we know exactly who was at each group each week.

Please know that this is completely optional and if you and your student do not feel comfortable attending due to COVID-19 please do not feel any obligation. For those that are comfortable we want to provide a space for students to worship and connect with God and each other.

WA Kids Opportunities

This I Know Family Faith Kit Drive-Thru Event
January 29th 6 – 7 PM
Families, bring your kids along for our drive through event. Each Family will receive a “This I Know Family Faith Kit” that is designed for families and children to learn more about the love Jesus has for them. The kit includes devotions, games, crafts, snack ideas and supplies for the month of February. Decorations and five stations will be set up in front of WA for each car to stop at and hear a special message, plus receive surprises and treats at each stop.

WA Kids Card Making Opportunity
Cards Due February 1
All kids encouraged to get creative and make valentine’s cards.
Pastor Kellie is encouraging our WA Kids to make cards to send to very special people at WA for Valentine’s Day. Cards can be made with markers, crayons, stickers, etc. They can be dropped off Monday through Friday at the church office, Sunday mornings at the WA Kids table or at the This I Know Family Drive-Thru Event. Please have all cards at church by February 1st, so we can address them and put them in the mail. Our goal is 130 cards, so kids can make as many cards as they would like. GriefShare Starts Again February 2, 2021

Tuesdays from 6:30pm – 8:00pm
GriefShare, is a support group for people grieving any kind of loss. This group at Wilshire Avenue is led by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.
