TM Conference – Margaret Feinberg

Last week our staff got to virtually participate with our national movement, Transformation Ministries. In the next several weeks we will share some of the highlights and videos that will hopefully be an encouragement and blessing as it was for us.

The video we are sharing is of Margaret Feinberg who is a Bible teacher and speaker at churches and conferences such as Catalyst, Thrive, and Women of Joy. You can watch her video from the conference below where she talks about food imagery in the Bible.

Dominican Republic- Write to your Sponsored Child

The single most effective way to encourage your sponsored child is through letter writing.

Letter writing may seem like a novelty in today’s world, something fun to do if you’re into that type of thing, but it’s through letters, whether they be a quick note or a few pages long, handwritten or written online, with or without photos, that we send the consistent and deeply personal message, “You matter. I love you. I’m with you.”

Letter writing is a labor of love, for when we write a letter to our sponsored child we help her emotional and spiritual growth by:

• building self-esteem
• encouraging learning
• nurturing dreams
• providing a tangible expression of love
• emphasizing a relationship of prayer with Jesus

We believe generosity is a form of worship. We love to display our gratitude and devotion to God through tithes and offerings from the blessings God has placed in our hands. Give back to God and see what he can do through you. You can give online at wilshireave.com/give. Thank you for generosity. 

Take A Moment – Word & Prayer- Lectio Divina

Spend time with God through his Word using the practice of Lectio Divina. 

1. Read  – God’s word. Read it slowly and be aware that God is speaking.

2. Reflect – Meditate on God’s word. Soak in it.  

   1. Any new thoughts about God Himself

   2. Any example for me to follow?

   3. Any commands for me to obey?

   4. Any errors for me to avoid?

   5. Any sin I need to leave behind?

   6. Any promises I need to claim? 

3. Respond – Pray. Thank God, present your requests to Him, cry out, etc.

4. Rest – Rest in God’s presence.  Abide. Rest as a son or daughter who is truly loved. Contemplate his promises, his goodness, his faithfulness
    
5. Return –  Return to His word/these thoughts throughout the day and allow Him to guide you.

But when you, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:6
